Founded by Brooklyn-based artists Shanan Campanaro and Maria Kozak, Foolsgold creates art exhibitions that celebrate the natural environment and its inhabitants. The exhibitions are sold through silent auctions that raise funds to support various charitable organizations committed to protecting the environment and wildlife.
All of the artists involved are concerned with the impact humanity is having on our environment and the suffering various species endure because of displacement, poaching, and cruel farming practices. The aim of the exhibitions however, is not to show the violence and destruction the natural world faces, but to remind the viewers of its majesty and honor the dignity of its inhabitants.
